Nick Dean, also known as Nick The Quick, was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. He showed a love and talent for music at a very young age. His musical journey began in the elementary school band where he played the saxophone. His love for music continued to grow and he was certain he wanted to pursue a career in music.
Nick was selected to be in the Performing Arts program at North Atlanta High School. He was a member of the marching, symphonic, and jazz bands. His eclectic taste in music led him to an interest in becoming a DJ. When he was 16, his mother bought him his first set of turntables for Christmas. Shortly after, Nick was selected to be a part of Dallas Austin’s Don’t Stop The Music Foundation. It was a program Austin started that allowed high school students to learn about the music business and how to create music in a studio environment with various keyboards and computer programs.
In 2007, Nick entered Morehouse College and started DJing house parties for his classmates as well as numerous events within the Atlanta University Center. While a student, he had several internships, including Patchwerk Studios and a local internet radio station in Atlanta. He continued his work in the music industry and graduated from Morehouse in 2011.
After college, Nick began to work with Janelle Monae and her record label Wondaland. He soon began to DJ several of Wondaland’s parties and events, becoming known as a reputable DJ in Atlanta. He became a tour DJ for local rapper Deante’ Hitchcock, and supported him as an opening act for several artists’ tours, including Rapsody and 6lack.
Nick continues to DJ today bringing an unforgettable experience to any crowd he DJ’s for. Whether it be small private parties, large corporate events, music tours, or any other type of event, Nick is determined to give his all to ensure a great time for any audience!
